Professional Engagement

Partners in Amphibian and Reptile Conservation

I joined the Northeast PARC Editorial Board in 2014 and work closely with other board members to edit and revise NEPARC products. In 2017 the Inclusion, Equity, and Diversity Task Team was formed in PARC. I enjoy working with the team on a variety of initiatives. In particular, I am project lead on a task team presentation to be given at all state and regional chapter meetings. At the 2018 NEPARC I will be giving the first presentation talk developed by the team, and along with other team members, I will be facilitating an Inclusion, Equity, and Diversity session.

I just recently joined SACNAS when Sofia Roitman and others created the first chapter at Penn State in February of 2018. I am working as Vice President to help coordinate SACNAS efforts with other offices and organizations on campus and to aid in recruitment of new students.

Society for the Study of Amphibians and Reptiles

I have been a member of SSAR since 2011, and my main engagement is through their journals, Journal of Herpetology and Herpetological Review. I also contribute natural history notes, geographic range distribution notes, and book reviews.

The Wildlife Society

I joined the Wildlife Society in 2011 and have participated in state chapters meetings, national meetings, and regional student chapter conclaves. This includes teaching a herpetology workshop for the 2014 student conclave. I have also reviewed conference abstracts for annual meetings.

I have conducted peer reviews at the following journals:

  • Global Change Biology
  • Frontiers in Ecology and the Environment
  • Journal of Wildlife Management
  • Journal of Herpetology
  • Hydrobiologia
  • Amphibia Reptilia
  • Herpetological Review
  • Agriculture, Ecosystems, and the Environment
